SPEAKING & TEACHING

Author Robin Brookes, wearing glasses and a white knitted sweater, sits at a wooden table on a balcony, writing in a notebook. She is surrounded by a cup of coffee, a French press, water glasses, and scattered papers.

Robin teaches creative writing and is available for online workshops and lectures, as well as in-person opportunities in London. For Faber Australia, she developed a six week course on pitching your novel and getting an agent, and has also delivered guest talks to Faber’s flagship novel writing programme on propulsion, plot and pacing.

Before writing books, she was an award-winning playwright in Australia and is particularly skilled at teaching dialogue, scene building and aspects of dramatic writing. She has taught workshops on dramatic writing techniques for novelists in many places including Hove Writing Club in the UK and City of Melbourne Libraries in Australia.

Robin has been a panelist and guest speaker at various book festivals including London’s Capital Crime, Icelandnoir, Crimefest, Scotland’s Wigtown Book Festival and Thrillerfest in NYC.
